WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED A GOALIE

Goalies SHOULD BE at Every LUG Game

Let's face it...hockey is not the same without a goalie.

While, LUG will try to do everything we can to ensure that there is a goalie at the game, at the end of the day, it is the teams responsibility to make sure you have a tendy on the ice. We don't have a pulse on the inner-workings of all 150+ teams game-day rosters so we rely on our teams to keep us informed if they have any issues with finding a goalie.

GOALIES: Don't bail on your team day-of. Give everyone notice if you can't make it!

What if your goalie can't play?

  • Contact your LUG commissioner at least 24 hours in advance! We can't help find a goalie if we don't have reasonable notice. Seriously, it's not that easy even for us, so give us the notice as soon as you think you're going to be short a goalie.
  • Post in the LUG Goalie Facebook Group. Include the league, day, time, arena of your game and ask for a volunteer.
  • DM other goalies in your league. Everyone's name and Instagram is on the player cards on the website.
  • Use Puck App or your local Rent a Goalie to look for a Rent a Goalie cheap.

CAPTAINS: Every team should try to ensure they have the name and phone number of extra goalies who can play in the event their regular tendy can't make it. This situation is bound to come up so make sure you're on top of it.

We will always do our best to help you out in every situation but need as much notice and as possible and your help to make sure every game has a goalie. In the event that there is no goalie, unfortunately, we cannot reschedule the game. The teams can decide to play without a tendy or the team with a goalie gets the W and they can play shinny.

Thank you,

The LUG
