Rules - Golf Scramble

GENERAL INFORMATION

CLOTHING AND FOOTWEARIf a dress code is in place at a golf course, all participants must follow the rules. Participants should check the course website in advance of the event day to be prepared. Golf cleats or running shoes are required.
EQUIPMENT

Standard golf equipment is required.

WEATHER

Events will be played in any weather deemed safe by the golf course, including rain. Dress appropriately for the weather.

PLAYING THE GAME - SCRAMBLE

# OF PLAYERSEach group must consist of four players.
SCRAMBLE RULESEach group will use the following procedures for play at each hole:
  • The tee shot:
    • Each golfer in the squad tees off on every hole.

    • The team then chooses one of the tee shots (the best obviously, although that may not always be easy to determine) do they have to use x number of drives from each player?

    • The players mark this spot with a tee marker

    • Everyone plays the next shot from this marker

  • All subsequent shots until ball is on the green:

    • The other players in the team pick up their balls and put them down a club length (no closer to the hole) from the tee marker for the best tee shot.

    • Each team member hits the ball from this spot. (one club length from the best shot).

    • The team then chooses which shot they deem the best to take their next shot from.

  • Putting green shots:
    • The best shot from all the team players is selected.

    • The ball is then placed four inches from the best shot (not closer to the hole).

  • Holing the ball:

    • The first ball to go into the hole is the one which counts toward the score.

    • This score counts for as the whole team score, sometimes called the net score.

    • Every hole must be putted in, no gimmies.

Teams can determine their order as they wish on each hole and each shot.

Players do not get mulligans.

Women can tee off from any tee of their choice including the ladies tees. Men can tee off from any tee other than the ladies tees.
