SEASON DETAILS 

Team spots are extremely limited and are available on a first come, first serve basis. In the event that your city is sold out, you can join the waitlist by emailing hello@lughockey.com

Game DetailsLUG Hockey plays most games over Sundays & Monday-Wednesday Nights
Game nights and times are dependent on arena availability. The schedule is posted for each semester to give players visibility on where and when you will be on ice. You can also view the last years schedule for an idea of game nights, times, locations by viewing our website schedule.
Teams will be scheduled for 1-2 games in a week.
Typical Game Times: Sunday's (6 pm - 11 pm) ; Mon-Wed (8 pm - 12 am). Some variability on this dependent on location.

Last Possible Games: April 15th (in the event of lockdowns, the season may be extended up until this date).

Women's TeamsLUG will help build women's teams by grouping together small groups and individuals. Sign up as a Free Agent if you're looking to join a team or if you have a small group of women's players, sign up a team and email us how many Free Agents you need. 
Season Length14 games (including 1 playoff) minimum. Teams who win in the playoffs move on and play more games.
We play every week that you're going to want to play hockey starting from Mid October to March (see black out dates for weeks we do not play)

12-12-15 run time periods. Shootout for ties. 
WAG CUPThe WAG Cup is the pinnacle event in the LUG season with championship teams from LUG hockey competing to be crowned the best team in the LUG. A huge after party is thrown to toast the champions and celebrate the season.

PaymentsEach player pays a portion of the team fee.
ON, BC, AB, SK, MB, QC: Teams are responsible for 13 player fees. Teams with less than 13 players will be responsible for any balance remaining (13 players - total registered players * per player fee = balance)
NB, NS, NF, PEI: Teams are responsible for 15 player fees. Teams with less than 15 players will be responsible for any balance remaining (15 players - total registered players * per player fee = balance)
Forfeits/DefaultsSigning up is a commitment. Any team that misses 3 games without prior notice and a valid reason will be removed from the league. 
RulesAll teams must play by the LUG Hockey Rules. A full list of rules can be found here. 

Team Names: Please remember to write respectful and non vulgar team names. This is something that is public and your name is connected to your team name.

Season Policy

If there is a closure mandate due to a pandemic health emergency, LUG will take the following steps:

  • Pause the season. LUG will remain paused until it is no longer possible to schedule teams remaining games. The hard cut off date for games to be played is April 15th, 2021.
  • Reschedule games. LUG will reschedule games including booking on non advertised game days/times. This may result in multiple games played each week.
  • Refunds & Credits. Provide players with pro-rated refunds towards the balance of their season. Please read below for how refunds are calculated.
    • 0 games played: 100% refund;
    • 1-3 games played: 75% refund minus discounts used during registration (if applicable);
    • 4-10 games played: Registration fee minus discounts used during registration (if applicable) minus $150 (jersey, merchandise, insurance, admin fee, transaction fees) minus $30 x # team games played 
    • 12+ games played: No refunds. A season is considered complete after 80% + of a season schedule has been finished. 
    • A discount code for next season will be provided for any cancelled season that starts and is not completed.

JERSEYS

LUG has a limited number of premium Authentic NHL style jerseys. These are available on a first come, first serve basis and awarded to teams who register within the allocated number of team spots we have assigned. If you register after our allocated slots are sold out or are put on our team waitlist, similar jerseys can not be guaranteed. 

Jersey sets are given out to teams based on who signs up first. Sign up first to get first choice on jersey sets. 

Make sure to sign up as soon as registration launches to avoid disappointment.

2021 COVID-19 GUARANTEE

Please note, the situation with COVID is fluid and constantly evolving. 

LUG will provide 100% refund for any league that does not start due to COVID-19. Our full refund policy can be found here.

LUG will implement game or operational policies consistent with Public Health requirements in your State/Province. Please abide by all COVID related rules specific for your city, these are Health rules set not by LUG, but by the Government.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Setting up schedules and matchups takes time to organize. 
Therefore, any team that registers too close to the start of the season will be added to the Week 2 schedule. Please register as soon as possible to ensure your team is scheduled for games on opening nights.

The price you see below is per player. Every player on your team is responsible for paying their own fee. See above for details on the # of players required per team.
