When + Where We Play — Important Season Information
When We Play

Your league’s typical game days and times are listed above. Occasional games may be played outside of those times on Sunday–Thursday nights and Saturday–Sunday afternoons based on league needs. Any scheduling irregularities will be communicated in advance.

Where We Play

Your league’s typical facility is listed above. Additional facilities may be used throughout the season based on facility availability. We do our best to keep games as close as possible to the core league area, with any location changes communicated in advance.

Black Out Dates

We do not play on key dates and scheduled breaks throughout the season, such as the Holiday Break, Reading Week, the Super Bowl, March Break, St. Patrick’s Day or statutory holidays. We do play on Sunday evenings returning from scheduled vacations and breaks.

Flexibility Policy

Every effort will be made to create a consistent schedule. Some games, times or facilities may fall outside the advertised information to manage emergencies, cancellations, changes in league size or other situations where schedule flexibility is required.

Playing Other LUG Hockey Leagues?

Ball Hockey is scheduled separately from LUG College Hockey and LUG OA Hockey. We’ll do our best to avoid overlap, but we can’t guarantee games won’t conflict. If you spot a scheduling conflict, message us and we’ll see if it can be adjusted.

Team + Division Details

Upper Division

Lower Division

A recreational division for teams looking for a more casual level of play while still enjoying competitive, quality games.

*Separate Upper and Lower Divisions are subject to registration numbers.
**The league is co-ed,

How Division Placement Works
01
Select Your Division: Teams register for either the Upper or Lower Division based on their preferred level of competition.
02
Registration Numbers Are Reviewed: There must be enough registered teams to create competitive schedules for both the Upper and Lower Divisions.
03
Separate or Combined Divisions: If registration numbers allow, Upper and Lower will operate as separate divisions. If there are not enough teams to support two divisions, teams may play in one combined division.
04
Matchups Are Prioritized: In a combined division, LUG will prioritize matchups between teams that selected the same division wherever possible.
LUG reserves the right to adjust division placement and skill-level alignment to create the most competitive and balanced schedule possible.

Good To Know
Roster Requirements

Teams require a minimum of 10 registered players. Rosters may exceed 10 players, and every registered player will receive a uniform. Any players beyond the first 10 must register using the Extra Player Registration link.

Code of Conduct

LUG maintains a zero-tolerance policy for conduct that negatively impacts players, officials, staff or facilities.

Facility Rules

Alcohol, smoking, vaping, drugs and intoxication are not permitted at league games or facilities.

Defaults + Forfeits

Teams that default games may be subject to league fines and playoff eligibility restrictions.

Registration + Refunds

All registrations are subject to LUG's registration, roster and refund policies.

Team Names

All team names are audited and may be changed if inappropriate. Team names are public and can be indexed by Google. Your school, employer or a future background search may be able to find them. Be mindful when choosing your name. If you create a team called “The Mentally Bedarded” or “Dixon Cider,” consider whether having that name connected to you publicly would help or hurt your career or future opportunities.

Simple rule: if you would not want the team name appearing beside your name in a Google search, LinkedIn search or employment background check, choose something else.
