It feels oh so good to be back...
LUG Hockey has been giving college players a place to keep playing puck since 2009. Today, we're the largest hockey league for college students in the world with more than 25,000 players across 80+ cities, states and provinces. Our men's and women's leagues are for players across different skill levels who simply want to play good puck with their friends throughout the academic year. While it's designed around student life, LUG College Hockey is open to any player who wants to play in a real league against their peers.
Some players come into LUG after years of junior, AAA or high-level club hockey. Others just want to keep playing with their friends when they get to campus. Either way, the idea hasn't changed much: hockey shouldn't have to end when high school does.
A LUG season gives you a full season of games, standings, player stats, team jerseys and matching socks, playoffs and a championship to play for. Around that is everything that makes playing on a team worth it - the group chat, competitive games, Rookie Parties, All Star games, and caring a lot more about the standings than anybody expected.
The league sells out quickly. We only have so many spots in each market (ice is extremely hard to get). Registration for the 2026-27 season opens September 16 at 5:30 PM EST. Here's what you need to know.

How LUG Hockey Works
Get your roster together and choose your starting skill level.
Select your team's look through the Live Jersey Draft.
Games, stats and standings are tracked throughout the year.
Teams compete through their divisional postseason.
Eligible champions can advance to WAG Cup competition.
The Basics
Each market is a little different, but the core structure is consistent: a local regular season followed by divisional playoffs.
United States: 10 regular season games + 1-4 playoff games.
USA: November-April
Play At The Right Level
Teams register into the level that best reflects their roster and playing background.
Division CREATION & Realignment
Your registration level is a starting point. Once registration closes, LUG reviews team strength, playing backgrounds, registration numbers and the overall mix of teams in each market to create Initial Divisions.
After the season starts, divisions may then be realigned or combined to create the best competitive structure possible. Larger markets may support more tightly separated divisions, while smaller markets may use a broader configuration.
A Complete College Hockey Season
LUG is built to feel like a season, not just another weekly ice time.
- Regular-season schedule
- Divisional playoffs
- LUG jerseys + matching socks
- Live Jersey Draft
- Individual player stats

Your Registration Time Matters
Every team selects its jerseys and matching socks through the Live Jersey Draft. There are more than 60 jersey styles available for 2026-27.

Draft priority follows the order teams sign up. Teams must have 14/15+ players registered before the draft to hold that position.
Playoffs And The WAG Cup
Every local division finishes with playoffs. Teams compete for their division championship, and eligible champions can continue into WAG Cup opportunities against top teams from other markets.
The exact path varies by region and division, but the idea is simple: win locally and earn the chance to keep playing.

How To Join
Most players register as part of a full team, but there are options if you don't have a complete roster.
WEDNESDAY September 16, 2026 @ 5:30 PM EST
Use code LEGEND25 for the first 48 hours. Space is limited by league, division and skill level.
Jersey Draft priority is also based on the order your team registers, with 14/15+ players required before the draft.
