About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and self-directed individual to join LUG Sports as a League Scheduling & Operations Intern. Our schedules are the backbone of the player experience, determining when and where thousands of athletes compete each week across North America.

In this role, you'll work directly with our Operations team to build, manage, and optimize league schedules across multiple sports and markets. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role for someone who enjoys working with data, tackling logistical challenges, and finding creative solutions when plans change. You'll help manage the moving pieces behind thousands of games while identifying opportunities to make our scheduling processes more efficient and scalable.

Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and optimize league schedules across multiple sports and markets, balancing game times, opponents, and facility availability. Manage in- season schedule changes, including weather cancellations, facility conflicts, team additions, and rescheduled games.

Support playoff seeding, bracket creation, and scheduling adjustments as teams advance through elimination rounds.

Assist with tournament and special event scheduling, including All-Star Games, Rivalry Nights, and WAG Cup events.

Maintain accurate league, team, and scheduling data across internal spreadsheets, Zoho CRM, and other platforms.

Identify opportunities to streamline scheduling processes, improve internal tools, and automate repetitive workflows.

Pitch in on whatever the Operations team needs, from game-day support to admin and logistics.

About You

You're graduating from an undergraduate program by December 2026, have completed an undergraduate or master's degree within the last 1-2 years, or are currently enrolled in a university or college co-op program.

Background in mathematics, computer science, engineering, business or a STEM related field.

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects, datasets, and deadlines simultaneously.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in tackling complex logistical challenges.

Comfortable working with Google Sheets or Excel, including organizing, analyzing, and manipulating large datasets.

Interested in technology, business operations, process improvement, or sports management.

Eager to use AI tools to automate repetitive work, speed up analysis, and find smarter ways to solve scheduling problems.

Experience with CRM systems, automation tools, or advanced spreadsheet functions.

Excited to contribute to a fast-growing sports organization and help build leagues that players genuinely love.

Additional Notes

We're a remote-first team and output is more important than facetime, so where you choose to work is up to you - as long as you have internet access, you can work from wherever helps to make you successful, and your family happy.

League games typically take place on evenings and weekends. This is not your standard 9-5. Working day requirements may shift based on leagues running and the season.

Benefits and Compensation

Paid hourly ($18 to $21 per hour, based on experience) at a full 35 hour work week

Fast track to Full Time opportunities with LUG HQ

Real operational ownership in a fast-growing sports organization - not a coffee-run internship.

Free participation in LUG Sports Leagues during the work term

Free LUG merchandise, partner products, and access to special events.
